Protection dogs

Personal protection training is essentially an extension of obedience training.  Rather than the dog sitting, standing, laying down on a command he is aggressing or releasing a bite on command. There are several important rules to follow in order to maintain safety when teaching a dog to aggress humans.

Only well socialized dogs of sound temperament should be use. These dogs must be well obedience trained and the handler needs to be a higher ranking pack member.

Obedience training is critical as without it you are creating a dangerous dogs rather than a trained protection dog.

By rewarding a dogs natural drives it is taught to be aggressive in one command and to stop aggressing on another. This is often accompanied by the dog being taught to bite and hold a person clad in protective clothing. On another command the dog releases his bite.
